MARCH EVENTS

March 10th

ST. BALDRICK'S FUNDRAISER

Atlanta Falcons Cornerback, Dominique Franks will be the celebrity barber at this year’s St. Baldrick's Fundraiser / ShamRock & Roll Festival on Saturday, March 10, at Meehan’s Public House in Sandy Springs. From 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. the 24-year-old, Oklahoma native will be shaving the heads of brave volunteers who have pledged to shave their heads in solidarity with children with cancer. Franks will also be promoting the St. Baldrick's Rally Athlete program, a partnership between the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally) and St. Baldrick’s  that promotes fundraising and half marathon training teams for various marathons across the country to further advance treatment for the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity devoted to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers. St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer research, and today the St. Baldrick's Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization, with the  exception of the U.S. government. This year, the St. Baldrick’s event at Meehan's Public House has already raised $55,000 and 72 people (a.k.a. “shavees”) have pledged to shave their heads!
